I didn’t start in the boardroom. I started in the dirt. My career began as a laborer in the Canadian Oil Sands, hauling tools and learning what true resilience looks like. Over the next twenty-five years, I went from hard hats and night shifts to executive leadership in Fortune 10 companies. Today, as the Global Head of Environment, Health & Safety at Google, I carry those early lessons with me—the value of hard work, humility, and never asking someone to do what you wouldn’t do yourself.
At thirty-five, I became a Global Vice President and went on to lead some of the most complex industrial operations in the world, including global projects at Amazon. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about the corner office or the title, it’s about showing up, doing the work, and staying authentic in every room you walk into. My path wasn’t handed to me. It was built through grit, long days, and a belief that every obstacle can be turned into opportunity.
As a woman who’s built her career in industries where few women stood beside me, I’ve made it my mission to help others rise higher than they imagined. I’ve been honored to be featured in CEO Weekly, Women’s Journal, and The Wall Street Times, and recognized by the Houston Business Journal as a “Women Who Mean Business” honoree. My story isn’t just about climbing the ladder—it’s about proving that where you start doesn’t define where you’ll finish.
